Finding the right therapist is a big decision — and it’s natural to have questions. Below, I’ve answered some of the most common things clients ask before we begin working together. If there’s something else you’d like to know, please reach out — I’d love to help.
Do you offer free consultations?
Yes! I offer a brief, 20-minute consultation (no charge) to see if my approach aligns with your needs. It’s not a formal therapy session—just a chance to talk, clarify expectations, and ensure we’re a good fit.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
No. All sessions are online via a secure platform, allowing for accessibility and continuity for clients across Ontario and Nova Scotia.
What are your fees?
A standard 50-minute session is $220 CAD, payable by e-transfer at the time of your session. You’ll receive a receipt immediately.
My rate reflects over 20 years of experience across clinical, academic, and wellbeing leadership settings — integrating psychological science, evidence-based therapy, and social–personality research to support meaningful, lasting change. I aim to make the process collaborative, transparent, and genuinely helpful from the start.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations require 48 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less notice are charged the full fee, as that time is reserved for you. Therapy works best with consistency — and showing up is part of the process
Are your services covered by insurance?
My services aren’t covered by OHIP, but most private insurance plans include psychotherapy with a Registered Social Worker (RSW). If you’re not sure, check with your provider.
Sessions can also be claimed as a medical expense on your income tax. No extra fees or hidden costs — as an MSW, RSW psychotherapist, the price you see is the price you pay.
