What I Do and Why It Works
People don’t just unlock their best selves by wishful thinking—they change through evidence-based strategies, psychological insight, and deliberate practice. That’s where I come in.

I use scientific principles, practical tools, and a solutions-focused approach to help people:

-
Understand their thought patterns and behaviors—why they do what they do
-
Build resilience and psychological flexibility (in other words, adapt instead of getting stuck)
-
Align their values, mental health, and career goals in a way that actually makes sense
My work is grounded in decades of research and clinical experience, not trends or self-help fads. I earned my Ph.D. in Social-Personality Psychology (York University, 2003), an MSW in Clinical Social Work (Wilfrid Laurier University, 2013), and an MA in Community Psychology (University of Toronto, 1995)—which means I don’t just rely on intuition; I rely on science.

Since 1996, I’ve also practiced Zen Buddhism and meditation, which provides an additional perspective—not as a mystical solution, but as a way to cultivate mental clarity and focus. I also hold certification in Zen Shiatsu, integrating Eastern mind-body principles into my work where they’re actually useful.
My approach is straightforward: Understand the problem, apply what works, and move forward. No fluff, no gimmicks—just real tools for real change.

Because real change isn’t about endlessly analyzing the past or waiting for confidence to strike—it’s about applying proven strategies to shift thought patterns, behaviors, and emotional responses.

-
I combine the best of Western psychology (CBT, ACT, DBT) with Eastern mindfulness—not as a gimmick, but as a science-backed approach to emotional regulation
-
My social psychology & research background means I don’t just help individuals—I understand how systems, relationships, and environments shape mental health
-
I specialize in helping high achievers, leaders, and professionals break patterns of stress, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome—so they can perform at their best without burnout
